Day 2 - Grey clouds on the horizon!

Fantastic nights sleep! Even better breakfast....and the view of Auckland from the dining table is stunning.
Unfortunately the Auckland Sky Tower was in the clouds - so we're not going up there today.
Decided to head off for a tour north of Auckland. Headed to Muriwai Beach to do some Gannet and Surf Dude spotting.
Weather was a bit grim though - grey clouds and rain. The breakers were pretty fearsome and a few surfers were braving the conditions. Didn't spot any pianos though.
Once Chris had done his usual trick of getting soaked in the sea, we carried on over to the East side of island - in search of some warmth at Waiwera Hot Springs. Good fun on the water shoots plus really warming pools - up to 40 degsC.
Have now returned back to base to produce this update. I think I've wiped all of my photos trying to upload one onto this blog! Clever me! Must remember to save!
Have contacted Mike in Wellington. Apparently it's nice and sunny there.....but due to change by the time we arrive. Good job were used to camping holidays in Wales.

Hi Ant ("R Kid"!!), Maria & bairns...
It sounds really crap mate! We are all (me, Nichola, kids, mum & dad) having a BBQ with lots of beers in the back garden at 6pm...... thinking about bringing the paddling pool out - what's going on kidda!!!!
Rachel is 4 years old today... ta much for her prezzie cos it's really gorgeous (not that you'd know what it is)!
I want to write loads but Nichola is telling me off and shutting me up as usual....... she's telling me that you need to "carry on enjoying yourself" (that's original, ..... gee wizz, ….. I give up!!!).
Apparently the English cricket team have given up all hope (of anything!), abandoned the whole test series and have headed their way to NZ to follow you and Mikey's army -..... tell Porky Mikey by the way that I know the problem of "waistline challenge" and, looking down today, desperate to catch sight of my toes just now and then, I doubt Christmas will improve things much!
O “ships in the night”; …. I have just read that I need a “Google account”. So, now I need to save this (in WORD, just in case), ……set up an account, ….cut and paste the message back, bla la bla….. ....., crikey this is consuming as much time as it'll take you and Mike to decide who is the best looking brother out of us two (no competition really Mike, there is beauty in rotund’ness, even if "you" are a Scouser)! There's not much beaut in a "fit" 42 year old is there - really?
.... Time moves on; anyway, done the account, cut n paste stuff now, got a 4th b-day party to return to (the new "Lucky dog" present is bazzin!!!).....
O by th way, UTD were pants at the weekend; in the space of 3 hours I went from thinking Chelsea were gonna lose (i.e., 8 points ahead) to seeing the lead dwindle to 2 points only. Even the Scouse won - bad weekend all round mate.......
Finally, on a rare serious note, keep enjoying yourselves (yawl) and be safe too,
Love - John & all the gang in "Dunnnn-deeeee"!!!
